Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting
In the Department of Experimental Oncology, the facility provides support and advanced equipment to the researchers to analyze and sort different types of cells in the tumor microenvironment according to their specific molecular markers. The facility is equipped with a BD FACSMelody cell sorter and 2 BD FACSCelesta™ flow cytometers. The equipment pool has been recently updated with the acquisition of a spectral Cytek Aurora instrument that leverages full spectrum technology to provide high flexibility, enabling the use of a wide array of new fluorochrome combinations. This system provides high-resolution, single-cell data, effectively addressing the challenges posed by complex cell populations, including those with significant autofluorescence or low biomarker expression levels.
Moreover, several Cytoflex instruments are available in the laboratories of the Department of Experimental Oncology, as well as one MACSQuant Tyto cell sorter in the Medical Oncology Department.
