Failure to cancel visits and exams: ticket payment required even for exempt patients

Patients who do not show up on the scheduled day for a medical visit or diagnostic procedure are still required to pay the ticket fee, even if they are entitled to exemption. The General Directorate of Welfare of the Lombardy Region, with a notice dated September 4, 2024, introduced, in implementation of Legislative Decree no. 73 of June 7, 2024, converted into law with amendments by art. 1, paragraph 1, Law no. 107 of July 29, 2024, containing “urgent measures to reduce waiting times for healthcare services,” new provisions aimed at improving the efficiency of the national health system and reducing waiting times for access to services.

Cancellation must be made at least 2 working days before the scheduled date.

If you have received a payment request for the administrative penalty due to failure to cancel your appointment and you have a valid reason for not showing up, you can justify your absence by filling out the attached form and sending it to: recuperocrediti.ambulatoriale@istitutotumori.mi.it
