Plastic Surgery Unit

The Plastic Surgery Unit is currently engaged in the following areas of treatment: 

Mammary Oncoplasty, Reconstructive Surgery of the Breast and Soft Tissues (especially Melanomas and Sarcomas). These two areas are prominent in both clinical management and the number of patients treated. While breast reconstructive surgery has always been the department's core business, the collaboration with the Sarcomas Unit has led to the transfer of certain pathologies with greater reconstructive interest to the Plastic Surgery Unit in recent years. This innovative sharing has led to better results in a timely manner and improved clinical management of patients. 

Alongside these activities, with numbers steadily increasing, there is Reconstructive Microsurgery; Autologous stem cell transplantation; Gynecological Reconstructive Surgery; Urological Reconstructive Surgery; Colorectal Reconstructive Surgery; Head and Neck Reconstructive Surgery; Thoracic Reconstructive Surgery; Pediatric Reconstructive Surgery; Eyelid and Periorbital Reconstructive Surgery; Skin Oncoplastic Surgery; Advanced Dressings. The Department also actively participates in multidisciplinary meetings and engages in specialized discussions of complex clinical cases related to reconstructive activities with all the facilities in the Institute. 

In addition to surgical procedures under regular hospitalization, the facility also offers surgery on a day-care basis and intensive outpatient activities (outpatient surgery, dressings, initial consultations and follow-ups).
