Technology Transfer Office (TTO)

The mission of the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) is to support the Strategic Directorate regarding legal and contractual aspects of research activities conducted at INT. 
Specifically, the TTO handles procedures related to the following areas: 

1. Patents and intellectual property protection 
2. Clinical, preclinical trials, and observational studies 
3. Research contracts, scientific collaboration agreements, and acquisition/transfer of biological material 
4. Membership, participation, establishment, and other relations with associations, consortia, companies, and public/private entities related to scientific research 

Key activities include: 

• Supporting researchers in identifying optimal invention protection pathways and commercialization strategies 
• Selecting patent consultants and assisting with patent applications, pending approval by the Patent Committee 
• Identifying industrial partners (through legally compliant methods) interested in developing technologies patented by INT 
• Negotiating contracts for patent transfers, licensing agreements, and co-development partnerships (scientific/economic) 
• National/international contracts for clinical/preclinical trials and research collaborations 
• National/international agreements for biological material transfer/data sharing, including appointment of data controllers where required 
• Managing contracts (drafting, accounting, settlement) directly involving the TTO 
• Coordinating with the Scientific Directorate on relevant matters 
• Assisting the Scientific Directorate in establishing and managing relations with scientific research entities (associations, consortia, etc.) 
• Supporting the Strategic Directorate and Board of Directors in Ethics Committee composition and updates 
• Compliance with document simplification, digitalization, and archiving requirements for administrative procedures 
• Transparency and anti-corruption compliance for relevant matters 
• Administrative procedure audits (workflows and activities) per applicable regulations
