Dr. Ottolenghi Joseph

In 1986, he earned his Medical Degree at the University of Turin.   

From November 1987 to February 1994, he attended the Department of Plastic Surgery of the National Institute for the Study and Treatment of Cancer (Head Dr. A. Grisotti). During these years, he obtained a specialization in Plastic Surgery at the University of Turin (Prof. V. Bergonzelli and Prof. G. Bocchiotti) and a specialization in Microsurgery and Experimental Surgery at the University of Milan (Prof. D. Galmarini).  

From March 1994 to March 1998, he was in Brazil for advanced training in Aesthetic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine, working at the "Santa Casa da Misericordia" hospital and at the Ivo Pitanguy Clinic, graduating as "Especialista em Cirurgia Plàstica" at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.   

In March 1998, he was hired at the Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery of the Mauriziano "Umberto I" Hospital in Turin (Dr. U. Crovella) where he remained until March 21, 2001, when he returned to serve at the Plastic Surgery Unit (Dr. M. Nava) of the National Cancer Institute in Milan.  

On June 1, 2011, he was awarded the High Specialization - Category 1 - "Activities related to regenerative medicine with specific reference to breast reconstructive surgery and the study of the applications of growth factors and the use of stem cells in tissue repair"  

On behalf of the Istituto Tumori, over the years he has been a consultant for the Hospitals of Verbania, Rionero in Vulture, Forlì, Reggio Emilia, Ortona e Sondalo  

He mainly deals with breast reconstruction and treatment of non-melanocytic skin tumors.
