Pathological Anatomy 1
Milano
Via Giacomo Venezian, 1 , 20133 Milano MI
The Complex Care Unit of Pathological Anatomy 1 is engaged in diagnostic and research activities of the following pathologies: gynaecopathology, pathology of the endocrine system and neuroendocrine tumours, uropathology, neoplastic and non-neoplastic pathology of the digestive system, liver transplant pathology, diagnostic cytopathology (cervico-vaginal and extravaginal) and molecular diagnostics of high-risk human papilloma virus (HR-HPV) on liquid cytological material (both as reflex and co-test). The study of these pathologies, based on the historical institutional expertise in the field of surgical pathology, is implemented by constant research and innovation aimed at improving diagnostic quality thanks to the latest immunohistochemical and molecular biology techniques.
The Complex Care Unit of Pathological Anatomy 1 is constantly engaged in providing histological consultations on material from other centres with the aim of providing the patient and the caregiver with an accurate diagnostic characterisation and evaluation of biological prognostic and predictive factors.
The laboratories belonging to the Complex Care Unit of Pathologic Anatomy 1 are certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, and also hold certification of excellence for neuroendocrine tumour diagnostics (European Neuroendocrine Tumour Society, ENETS). The Immunohistochemistry laboratory adheres to quality controls for Estrogen, Progesterone Her2 and PDL1 (NordiQC).
The Complex Care Unit includes a Simple Care Unit: Digital Pathology (Head Biagio Paolini).
