Dott. Radaelli Stefano

Dr. Stefano Radaelli, born on January 8, 1979, in Vimercate, is a highly accomplished surgeon, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of soft tissue sarcomas. 

He graduated with full marks and honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in July 2005, laying a strong foundation for his career in oncologic surgery. Education and Early Training: During his medical education, Dr. Radaelli gained valuable clinical and surgical experience as a student and trainee at the Policlinico and Luigi Sacco hospitals in Milan. 

This early exposure cultivated his interest in oncologic surgery, particularly adult soft tissue sarcomas. In November 2011, he achieved his diploma in General Surgery with distinction. Professional Development: To further deepen his expertise, Dr. Radaelli undertook international training experiences. 

He spent approximately six months observing at prestigious institutions, including the Royal Marsden Hospital in London and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. These experiences enriched his skills in the management of sarcomas. From October 2012 to 2013, Dr. Radaelli completed a surgical fellowship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, working with the Midland Abdominal and Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Unit. 

Here, he refined his skills in managing complex oncologic soft tissue sarcomas, with a special focus on retroperitoneal mesenchymal neoplasms, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), and sacral chordomas. He also attended the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham, advancing his expertise in treating sarcomas of the limbs and trunk wall. 

Current Role and Contributions: Since December 1, 2013, Dr. Radaelli has been an integral part of the Sarcoma Service at the National Cancer Institute in Milan, contributing to the surgical and multidisciplinary management of mesenchymal tumors. His work extends beyond clinical practice; he is a prolific author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in national and international journals. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences worldwide, sharing insights on the latest advancements in sarcoma research and treatment.
