Since 2002, Dr. Rossella Maria Bertulli has served as a Level I Medical Director at the SC Medical Oncology 2 Unit for Adult and Rare Mesenchymal Tumors. In her clinical role within the Unit, she is the senior referent for the inpatient ward and primarily provides consultative care (initial consultations and second opinions) for outpatients.

Within the Unit, she is the designated contact for the Quality and Training Office and acts as the appointed Manager for workplace safety activities. She is also an active member of the Institutional Transfusion Committee and participates in the “Multidisciplinary Sarcoma Meeeting” training program.

As part of the Lombardy Oncology Network project, she is involved in training activities and has contributed to the regular updating of the Clinical Guidelines on Rare Tumors (sarcomas and peritoneal mesothelioma).

She is an active member of the Italian Sarcoma Group and sits on the coordination boards of both the National Rare Cancer Network and the Lombardy Oncology Network.

From a scientific perspective, she takes part in national and international studies on innovative strategies and therapies for soft tissue and bone sarcomas—including pediatric histotypes in adulthood—gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), and peritoneal mesothelioma. She also contributed to the development of the consensus document on peritoneal mesothelioma within the PSOGI/EURACAN framework.

Dr. Bertulli provides specialist oncological consultations for musculoskeletal sarcomas at the Gaetano Pini Orthopedic Institute in Milan. She has participated in both internal and external training events and conferences as a lecturer or speaker.

She has also contributed to the organization of patient association-led initiatives (e.g., Italian GIST Association), actively participating in the development of projects aimed at both research and patient care.

In a multidisciplinary context, she also serves as a clinical-organizational reference for non-healthcare professionals.

In the field of education, she has been a medical tutor at the School of Specialization in Medical Oncology at the University of Milan since the 2015/2016 academic year.
