Dr. Baia Marco

I am a surgical oncologist with specialist training from the University of Milan and a dedicated Fellowship in Sarcoma Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham (UK), conducted under the auspices of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. I have developed a solid and highly specialized clinical and surgical profile in the management of soft tissue sarcomas, retroperitoneal sarcomas, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), and desmoid-type fibromatosis, working within high-volume referral centers that are part of national and international collaborative networks. 

As an integral member of a well-structured multidisciplinary team, I am directly responsible for the design and implementation of personalized diagnostic and therapeutic pathways, the coordination of case discussions, surgical planning, and the comprehensive clinical management of patients. My clinical activity is closely integrated with research, and I am actively involved in the recruitment, treatment, and long-term follow-up of patients enrolled in prospective studies and international clinical trials (including STREXIT2/STRASS2, TRAST, SARveillance, and SACRO), as well as national disease registries. I contribute to study design, data collection and interpretation, and the dissemination of results through publication in peer-reviewed journals.
