Oncological Day Surgery

The SSD Oncological Day Surgery is a specialized unit dedicated to the diagnosis and surgical management of oncological and related diseases, primarily delivered in a day hospital (“day surgery”) or outpatient setting. The unit provides a wide range of procedures, including breast surgery, skin surgery (pigmented and non-pigmented lesions), soft tissue surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, laser microsurgery (ENT, gynecology, urology), lymph node surgery, gynecological surgery (hysteroscopies), urological and ophthalmological surgery. It also offers advanced wound care and innovative treatments such as electrochemotherapy for cutaneous metastases.

Main activities:

• Oncological and reconstructive surgery: Surgical interventions on breast, skin, soft tissues, and lymph nodes, performed using both traditional and innovative techniques.
• Outpatient surgery and laser therapy: Management of oncologically suspicious lesions across all body regions, including ophthalmological procedures. Comprehensive coordination of the diagnostic-therapeutic pathway, from the initial outpatient consultation to surgical scheduling and post-operative follow-up.
• Multidisciplinary care: Collaboration with specialists from multiple disciplines to ensure an integrated, patient-centered approach.
• Clinical research and continuous quality improvement: Engagement in research initiatives and systematic monitoring of service quality to foster innovation and excellence in patient care.
