Tipologia: Departmental Simple Structure

The mission of the facility is to implement a biobank of biological samples to support clinical and translational research, as well as to establish biorepositories of human samples and organoids, prospectively annotated with clinical and molecular data.

The facility operates according to rigorous quality standards, ensured by a Quality Management System certified under ISO 9001:2015, and in compliance with GDPR Regulation 679/2016.

It provides support for clinical molecular sequencing activities, including analysis of both fresh tissue samples (RNA-seq) and frozen samples (whole exome sequencing). The facility serves as a key hub for the execution of clinical studies, translational academic research, and both profit and non-profit clinical trials. In this capacity, it contributes to strengthening the scientific initiatives of the Foundation, particularly those based on “omics” technologies applied to biological samples.

The facility is affiliated with the University of Milan and hosts the School of Specialization in Pathology. It also aims to contribute to the professional training of laboratory technicians, biologists, and medical residents in Pathology through direct mentoring and support in the preparation of degree theses.
