Dr. Beninato Teresa

Teresa Beninato, MD, is a medical oncologist at the Thoracic Oncology Unit of the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan and a PhD candidate in Molecular Immunology. 

Graduated with honors from the University of Catania, she received her specialization in Medical Oncology from the University of Milan. After specialization she continued her activity at the Thoracic Oncology Unit of the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori of Milan, where she is involved in several clinical and translational projects focused on patients with lung cancer and other chest neoplasms. 

She is currently attending a PhD program with a project focused on small cell lung cancer. She also won the INT institutional research call in 2024 with a project on the role of epigenetics in the response to chemo-immunotherapy treatment in small cell lung cancer patients.  

Moreover, she was awarded a FONICAP-LILT grant for a one-year clinical and research internship within a thoracic interdisciplinary group (GIOT). She has authored peer-reviewed publications on thoracic neoplasms. She is a member of scientific societies including ESMO, AIOM, and EORTC.
