Silvia Stacchiotti is a medical oncologist whose career has been entirely dedicated to patient care and research in the field of bone and soft tissue sarcomas. She has been working at the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan (INT) since 2001, focusing on developing innovative therapies for patients with sarcomas, with particular attention to ultra-rare forms.

Her scientific work ranges from studying the natural history of sarcomas to evaluating their response to conventional systemic therapies, identifying new therapeutic targets and anticancer agents, as well as investigating mechanisms of drug resistance. She is actively involved in defining clinical guidelines to optimize treatment strategies and collaborates with regulatory authorities to improve access to care and clinical outcomes.

She has built a strong network of collaborations with the international scientific community and patient associations. Currently, she serves as President of the Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS), President of the Italian scientific society dedicated to sarcomas, the Italian Sarcoma Group, and Secretary of the EORTC Soft Tissue and Bone Sarcoma Group. She also maintains ongoing collaboration with the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). Silvia is an active member of the scientific committees of several international patient associations and charities, including the Chordoma Foundation, the Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma Group, the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation, and the Anticancer Fund.

As Principal Investigator, she coordinates numerous clinical studies focused on sarcomas. She is the author of over 280 scientific publications.

She graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1993 in Milan and completed her training at INT, earning her specialization in Clinical Oncology. Silvia is a mother of four children.
