Dr. Limuti Rosamaria

I began my work at the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit of the National Cancer Institute in July 2019, immediately after completing my residency in Anesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Management. 

Since then, I have continuously worked in the Operating Room, where I have gained experience and autonomy in the management of general anesthesia for superficial, abdominal, and highly complex surgeries (cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC, sarcomas, thoracic), both elective and emergency procedures. I have also acquired skills in the intraoperative management of liver transplants, with a focus on the selection and interpretation of advanced hemodynamic monitoring. 

Over the years, I have refined my skills in managing difficult airways, using techniques such as awake fiberoptic intubation and the Glidescope, in both emergency and elective settings. 

From the beginning, I have participated in the Pre-Hospitalization process, reaching a good level of autonomy in the anesthetic evaluation of oncology patients, including urgent cases and liver transplant candidates. 

Since January 2024, I have also been responsible for spontaneous-breathing sedations (NORA) for adult and pediatric patients undergoing diagnostic investigations or interventional procedures in radiology and endoscopy. 

I have mentored residents, aiming to share both theoretical and practical knowledge, and for about a year I have been part of the reference group for trainees involved in the Acute Pain Service. 

I have participated in internal training projects, such as updates on pediatric anesthesia and vascular access, and in scientific discussions (Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Journal Clubs), also as a speaker. I have also attended external courses focused on extubation and the prevention of postoperative delirium. 

I obtained the IRC ACLS certification in September 2022. 

Since 2022, I have been a member of the COBUS (Committee for the Proper Use of Blood) at the Institute.
