Dott.ssa Niger Monica

Dr. Niger is a medical oncologist and researcher who has been working at the IRCCS Fondazione Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori di Milano since she began her specialization in Medical Oncology in 2012. Her training also included a year abroad at Yale University in 2017.

Her work focuses on the study and treatment of gastrointestinal tumors, with a particular emphasis on pancreatic and biliary cancers. She actively collaborates with multidisciplinary groups within the institute as an oncology representative.

Dr. Niger’s contributions to clinical research in oncology are evidenced by more than 80 scientific publications in international journals, demonstrating her ability to successfully collaborate on both clinical and translational research projects.

She is also actively involved in numerous national and international networks that promote academic research and works closely with various patient associations.

As both principal investigator and sub-investigator, she has participated in numerous clinical trials aimed at innovating and improving therapeutic strategies for gastrointestinal cancers, with a particular interest in non-profit drug trials. In this regard, she has designed and is responsible for two clinical studies sponsored by the GONO Foundation, a non-profit institution that promotes numerous significant studies in oncology. She is also a member of its Executive Committee.
