Dr. Giussani Marta

I am a biologist with a Master's degree in Medical Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine, followed by a specialization in Clinical Biochemistry. 
I work at Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori di Milano since 2011. 
From 2011 to 2019, I worked at the Department of Experimental Oncology, focusing on experimental, preclinical, and translational studies on breast cancer with a focus on the crosstalk between tumor cells and the surrounding microenvironment and on circulating biomarkers for early diagnosis. During my career as preclinical researcher, I gathered my own funding with three-year FIRC fellowship and two post-doctoral fellowships of FUV. 
In 2020, I moved to the Laboratory of Clinical Analysis, SC Laboratory Medicine, as a Biologist. I am head of the Clinical Biochemistry and Electrophoresis areas of the laboratory. I performed the clinical validation of routine and on-call tests. I am also currently involved in supporting research projects, actively contributing to writing project proposals and executing/validating the associated laboratory tests. 
I am member of the Italian Society of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology and I actively participate to the “Specific Proteins” working group. 
I update my professional skills through training courses. 
I have actively contributed to the publication of scientific articles in national and international recognized journals.
