Dott. Occhipinti Mario

Mario Occhipinti, MD, is a medical oncologist with experience in the management of thoracic malignancies. Since 2020, he has been involved in clinical and research activities at the Thoracic Oncology Unit of the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2014 and completed his specialization in Oncology in 2020 at “Sapienza” University of Rome, where he also obtained a PhD in Network Oncology and Precision Medicine in 2024. He received funding through the Sapienza Avvio alla Ricerca 2022 program for a project focused on network analysis applied to immune biomarkers and tumor gene expression in NSCLC, as well as the Fondazione INT Institutional Research Line Grant 2023 for biomarker discovery in pleural mesothelioma. His scientific activity focuses on the application of precision medicine in thoracic tumors, with particular attention to the clinical management and research of rare thoracic diseases such as pleural mesothelioma. He is involved in more than 20 clinical trials conducted according to ICH-GCP guidelines, serving as a sub-investigator, and is the author of peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Occhipinti is an active member of AIOM, ESMO, IASLC, ASCO, and the EORTC Lung Cancer Group. He serves as coordinator of the research working group within MET.I, the Italian Mesothelioma Group, and is also a member of the AIOM Giovani working group.
