Dr. Flores Reyes Maria de los Angeles

Dr. Maria Flores graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of San Carlos de Guatemala and specialized in General Surgery from the same university. Later she moved to Italy through a scholarship at the Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and Liver Transplant Unit of the National Cancer Institute in Milan, thus obtaining recognition in Italy of the qualifications previously obtained. She subsequently completed a Master's degree in Transplant Medicine at the University of Milano-Bicocca. 

Since 2019 she has been serving as Medical Consultant at the IRCCS National Cancer Institute Foundation in Milan. She carries out high complexity surgical activities in the field of oncology, with reference to hepato-biliary, pancreatic, gastric and esophageal and intestinal pathologies. 

She performs procedures using traditional, laparoscopic and robotic approaches, with the use of advanced technologies for precision surgery (fluorescence, intraoperative ultrasound, cholangiography, ablative techniques). She is involved in liver transplant programs for primary and secondary oncological diseases. 

She is co-author of several scientific publications in international journals and participates in multicenter clinical studies in hepato-biliary-pancreatic and transplantation.
