Dr. Fiore Marco

Dr. Marco Fiore is an internationally renowned expert in the treatment of soft tissue sarcomas and has been working at the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori (INT) in Milan since 2006.
 

He has always been involved in the surgery of soft tissue sarcomas of the limbs and trunk as well as the retroperitoneum. Since 2018, he has held the position of senior specialist for retroperitoneal sarcoma surgery. He also 
deals with GIST and desmoid-type fibromatosis.
 

Academically, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO). He is Director of the ESSO European School of Soft Tissue Sarcoma Surgery. He is also an active member of the 
Enlarged Board of Directors of the Italian Society of Surgical Oncology (SICO).
 

He is a member of the Transatlantic Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Working Group (TARPSWG), in the context of which he is a member of the Governance Committee and Executive Committee of the international project RESAR (Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Registry), which involves more than 50 referral centers on five continents.

Dr. Fiore is affiliated with numerous international scientific societies, including the Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS), the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO), the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the European Surgical Association (ESA), the Italian Sarcoma Group (ISG), and the EORTC Soft Tissue and Bone Sarcoma Group. 
 

He currently serves as Treasurer of the Division of Surgical Oncology of the UEMS (Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes).
He serves as Editorial Advisory Board of the European Journal of Surgical Oncology (EJSO) and is on the Editorial Board of the Annals of Surgical Oncology (2015-2018, 2020-2023; 2025-2028).
 

A prolific researcher, he has authored or co-authored more than 190 articles published in international peer-reviewed journals. 
Since 2023, Dr. Fiore has also collaborated part-time with the Pediatric Surgery Service at Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, focusing on pediatric soft tissue sarcomas, Wilms' tumor, and neuroblastoma.
