Dr. Mazzeo Laura

Laura Mazzeo, MD, is a medical oncologist at the Thoracic Oncology Unit of the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan and a PhD candidate in Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano. She focuses on thoracic malignancies, with a specific interest in the application of artificial intelligence and real-world data in oncology. She graduated with honors from the University of Messina and completed her specialization in Medical Oncology at the University of Milan. She collaborates on the I3LUNG and APOLLO11 projects, both focused on innovative therapies and predictive models in lung cancer. She is the author of peer-reviewed publications on thoracic oncology and artificial intelligence. In 2024, she was awarded the institutional research grant from INT for a project on the use of Large Language Models for clinical data extraction. She also received the FONICAP–LILT scholarship for a one-year clinical and research fellowship within a thoracic interdisciplinary group (GIOT). She has presented her work at national and international conferences (AIOM, ESMO, ELCC), receiving grants and recognitions. She is a member of AI-ON-LAB and of scientific societies including ESMO, ASCO, AIOM, and EORTC.
