Dr. Giuseppe Lo Russo is a medical oncologist with expertise in thoracic malignancies and a translational researcher in oncology. He holds a PhD in Medical Oncology from Sapienza University of Rome, with a thesis focused on oncology and tumor microenvironment. During his training, he gained experience at several public hospitals in Italy, including Santa Maria Goretti Hospital in Latina, Umberto I Polyclinic in Rome, and the National Cancer Institute in Milan, where he refined both clinical and research skills. He also trained in the U.S. at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, conducting research on thoracic tumors and demonstrating a particular interest in preclinical cancer research. He currently works at the Thoracic Oncology Unit of the IRCCS National Cancer Institute of Milan, where he is actively involved in multidisciplinary tumor boards, translational research programs, and numerous clinical trials as principal investigator, including phase I–III studies. A native Italian speaker, he is fluent in English, with excellent reading, writing, and communication skills. Dr. Lo Russo is known for his scientific rigor, team-oriented approach, and organizational abilities. He is an active member of AIOM and ESMO and the author of over 140 peer-reviewed publications in international journals. He has received multiple awards for academic excellence and for his contributions to thoracic oncology research and innovation.
