Dr. Procopio Giuseppe

Giuseppe Procopio, MD and Full Professor, is Director of the Prostate Cancer Program and Head of the Departmental Simple Structure of Genitourinary Medical Oncology, where he is actively engaged in clinical research in the field of genitourinary oncology.

He graduated in Medicine in 1992 and specialized in Oncology in 1997 at the University of Messina. Since then, he has held clinical and research positions at the same Institute, and in 2013 he was appointed Head of the Genitourinary Cancer Unit. Dr. Procopio coordinates national and international multicenter clinical trials, with a main focus on kidney cancer, prostate cancer, and immunotherapy. He serves as a scientific advisor for pharmaceutical companies and is a member of scientific committees and professional societies, including ASCO, ESMO, and AIOM. He was Director of the Oncology Department at the Ospedale Maggiore of Cremona from May to October 2022. Currently, he serves as President-Elect of FICOG and President of Meet-URO. He also coordinates the AIOM clinical guidelines for kidney cancer and is a member of the ESMO Guidelines Committee for kidney and prostate cancers. He is the author or co-author of over 300 publications, with an H-index of 46 and more than 14,000 citations.
