Dr. Daniele Morelli graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Milan, where he later obtained a specialization in Biochemistry and Clinical Chemistry. In 1987, he conducted his research activities as a fellow at the Experimental Oncology Division of the National Cancer Institute, directed by Dr. M.I. Colnaghi. From 1988 to 1991, he worked as the Head of the Biochemistry laboratory at the pharmaceutical company Zambon Research S.p.A. 

From 1992 to 1997, he carried out research as a fellow at the National Institute of Health at the Chair of Immunology of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan. He then became an Associate Researcher at the Experimental Oncology Division E of the National Cancer Institute, directed by Dr. S. Menard. From 1997 to 2007, he worked as a Senior Biologist at the Laboratory Medicine Unit, becoming its Head in 2007 and then Director of the S.C. in 2018. Dr. Morelli is the author or co-author of approximately 100 publications of experimental and applied research in international scientific journals. He has been a member of the Italian Society of Clinical Biochemistry since 2002. He has also taught as a contract professor for the following courses at the University of Milan: Cellular and Molecular Immunology Course – D.U. for Biomedical Laboratory Technicians, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery (A.A. 1997/1998); Specialization School in Microbiology and Virology, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery (from A.A. 1997/1998 to 2002/2003); Degree Course in Techniques of Cardiocirculatory Pathophysiology and Perfusion, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery (A.A. 2009/2010 and 2010/2011). At the University of Insubria, he taught the course "Diagnostic Techniques - Principles of Diagnostics" in the Biotechnology Degree Course, Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences (from A.A. 2005/2006 to 2011/2012).
