Dott.ssa Colombo Chiara

Since 2009, she has been an surgical oncologist dedicated to sarcomas at the National Cancer Institute of Milan, currently working in the Sarcoma Service. She obtained her degree in medicine and surgery and her specialization in general surgery from the University of Milan. 

She then completed an 18-month research fellowship (2010-2011) at the Sarcoma Laboratory of Dr. Dina Lev at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, where she primarily focused on translational research on sarcomas, particularly desmoid fibromatosis. 

Her clinical activity is entirely dedicated to the management and treatment of patients with soft tissue sarcomas, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), and desmoid fibromatosis. 

She currently coordinates a specialized clinic dedicated to the care of patients with desmoid fibromatosis. Her main area of scientific interest involves identifying prognostic biological factors in patients with desmoid fibromatosis and studying the natural history of the disease. 

She is part of a multidisciplinary team that holds weekly meetings and conducts multidisciplinary visits with oncologists and radiotherapists.
