Dr. Anna Cardani is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management specialist with over two decades of experience in some of Italy’s leading hospitals. Her clinical expertise spans a broad spectrum of surgical disciplines, including liver transplantation, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, pediatric and oncologic surgery, with a specialized focus on acute and chronic pain management. 

A graduate of the University of Milan, Dr. Cardani completed her medical degree with a thesis on postoperative pain in pediatric surgery, followed by a residency in Anesthesia, Intensive Care, and Pain Therapy. She has deepened her expertise through international training in the United States, including at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, where she collaborated on research related to spinal cord stimulation and thoracic surgery post-operative pain. 

In addition to her conventional medical training, Dr. Cardani is a certified acupuncturist and has studied Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese herbal therapy and medical hypnosis. Her practice embraces a holistic, patient-centered approach, integrating evidence-based Western medicine with complementary therapies to provide individualized care—especially in the fields of oncology and chronic pain. 

Dr. Cardani currently practices at the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan, where she leads the acupuncture clinic within the Breast Unit. As anesthesiologist, she deals with postoperative pain management, central venous access placement and regional anesthesia techniques. 

Dr. Cardani aims to advance patient well-being through both innovative treatments and multidisciplinary collaboration.
