Team Breast Unit
Multidisciplinary in Breast Cancer is an essential part of the activities of the Breast Unit. This unit is composed of various professionals belonging to multiple organizational structures within the Foundation. They form what is called a “multidisciplinary team” in the management of patients with breast cancer.
Within the team, there are professional figures who are always involved in the activities of the Breast Unit “core team,” and there are others who are called upon or consulted based on the emerging needs in the care pathway.
An integral part of the core team is also the dedicated nurse for the Breast Unit and the Case Manager.
There is specifically a dedicated outpatient clinic for multidisciplinary visits that addresses all phases of breast cancer disease, with the aim of defining the overall therapeutic pathway for the patient by integrating and coordinating different treatment strategies. The goal is to offer personalized care pathways in accordance with National and International Guidelines and to implement innovative treatments when indicated.
The professional figures involved in the Breast Unit hold periodic training and shared updates on Diagnostic and Therapeutic Pathways.
