Dr., PhD Vallacchi Viviana

Dr. Viviana Vallacchi earned her degree with honors in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Milan and completed her PhD in Life and Biomolecular Sciences at The Open University (UK). 

Since 2003, she has been conducting research at Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan, where she is currently a permanent Senior Research Biologist. 

Her professional experience focuses on tumor immunology, particularly the molecular mechanisms of immunosuppression, tumor progression, and therapy resistance in various clinical settings, including soft tissue sarcomas and melanoma. 

Her scientific activity, documented by peer-reviewed publications and leadership roles as PI or unit coordinator in national and international competitive projects, centers on the identification of immunological and molecular biomarkers. 

She works within a multidisciplinary team including oncologists, pathologists, biologists, and bioinformaticians, and is actively involved in PhD student mentorship, editorial duties, and international peer review.
