Dr Meroni Silvia

I am a medical physicist with extensive experience in the healthcare sector, specialized in external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapy. Currently, I hold the position of Senior Medical Physicist, responsible for planning, verification, and quality control of radiotherapy treatments. Specifically, I work in brachytherapy for gynecological, skin (with particular attention to the eyelid), and ocular treatments, including treatments with Ruthenium plaques. I handle basic dosimetry on linear accelerators, contributing to the calibration and optimization of systems to ensure maximum therapeutic precision. I obtained my specialization in Medical Physics from the University of Milan with top honors, strengthening my expertise in diagnostic imaging and advanced radiotherapy. My multidisciplinary experience allows me to collaborate with clinical teams to continuously improve radiotherapy techniques and provide safer and more effective treatments. Throughout my career, I have participated in numerous research projects focused on dosimetric quality and the effects of radiotherapy, particularly pediatric, breast, head and neck, and thoracic cancers. Since 2021, I have been collaborating with the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) as a physics reviewer for international treatment protocols.
