Dr. Alessandro Ombretta

Specialist physician in Radiotherapy, I graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2012 and obtained my specialization with honors in 2020 at the University of Milan, with a thesis on hypofractionated radiotherapy in osteosarcoma. I completed training at the European Institute of Oncology and the Pediatric Radiotherapy Unit of the IRCCS National Cancer Institute (INT). 

I worked as a research associate in the same unit, contributing to AIRC research projects related to the late effects of radiation in pediatric brain tumors. I also gained clinical experience at the Poliambulanza Foundation in Brescia and the Igea Clinic in Milan. 

As a radiation oncologist at the Complex Structure of Oncological Radiotherapy 1 of the IRCCS National Cancer Institute since 2022, I have gained experience in the field of oncological radiotherapy, particularly pediatric, in the treatment of hematological neoplasms and currently focus on palliative radiotherapy and the treatment of skin tumors. 

I am an active member of the scientific societies AIRO and ESTRO. I collaborate regularly within multidisciplinary teams for the integrated management of cancer patients, particularly metastatic patients and those with skin tumors, contributing to the definition of personalized and shared therapeutic strategies
