Dr. Rodolfo Monica

Dr Monica Rodolfo holds a Biological Sciences degree and extensive experience in the field of cancer immunobiology. Her projects were granted by different agencies (AIRC, ACC, MOH, Regione Lombardia, EU, Harry J. Lloyd Charitable Trust). 

She headed studies on melanoma genetics, focusing melanoma disease pathogenesis, progression and susceptibility, and reported the first genetic characterization of Italian melanoma families and of pediatric melanoma. She joined national and international teams and consortia working on Melanoma Genetics, starting collaborative studies with Italian Melanoma Intergroup, Icelandic Decode Genetics and National Cancer Institute in USA. 

Current research interests include uveal melanoma immunobiology, 3D tumor cultures as prediction models, molecular mechanisms of resistance to kinase inhibitors. She supervises the activity of senior and junior researchers. She is author of more than 120 peer reviewed publications in cancer research and serves as a reviewer for several international journals.
