Dr. Michele Droz dit Busset, graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan in 2009, completed his residency in General Surgery with honors in 2016 and refined his technical training in London at King’s College Hospital. Since 2020, he has been working as a Consultant Surgeon at the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, performing medium- and high-complexity surgical procedures, primarily related to oncological conditions of the liver, biliary tract, pancreas, stomach and intestine. He has a broad personal case history, including minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic approaches, including: liver transplantation, major and minor hepatectomies, pancreaticoduodenectomies (Whipple procedures), distal pancreatectomies, total and subtotal gastrectomies with extended lymphadenectomy. To enhance surgical precision and outcomes while minimizing invasiveness and associated morbidity, he employs advanced technologies such as: 3D preoperative planning, intraoperative open and laparoscopic ultrasound, fluorescence-guided techniques and microwave liver ablations. He is also an authorized physician for national organ procurement programs and has gained experience in liver retrievals from donors after circulatory death (DCD), utilizing modern organ perfusion technologies.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Droz dit Busset is actively involved in scientific research, participating as a principal and co-investigator in clinical trials and research projects. He has authored numerous articles published in indexed international journals, which have earned him invitations as a speaker at various national and international conferences.

He also teaches at the University of Milan, contributing to the education of residents in General Surgery and Oncology, as well as students in the Degree Program in Medicine and Surgery.
