● Experience as Emergency Surgeon at the Policlinico of Milan, he continued at the National Cancer Institute (where he has been employed for 39 years) as Thoracic Surgeon with stays abroad (Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York) to broaden his professional experience 

He obtained 3 Specializations 

Senior Consultant (Attending Surgeon) full-time, with a permanent contract. 

In 2009 he obtained "Professional Assignment of High Specialty" 

He currently holds the role of deputy Director of the U.O. 

For 15 years he was responsible for the Quality Management Service of the U.O. in relation to the ISO 9001-2000 and Joint Commission accreditation 

The personal surgical case history as first operator consists of approximately 4000 interventions that include the complete repertoire of Thoracic Surgery, ranging across the entire scope of General Surgery. Of particular note are lung resections with broncho/angioplasty and after high-dose radiotherapy, extensive chest wall demolitions, repairs with muscle flaps, omental flaps and prosthetic devices, extrapleural pneumonectomies, esophagectomies, extended thymectomy, video-assisted procedures. He routinely uses minimally invasive access (VATS) 

● Author of approximately 80 scientific publications, of which 55 in international journals, selected by Science Citation Index, 7 chapters in monographic books, 90 works at Congresses and scientific videos. 

● Consultant thoracic surgeon in multidisciplinary teams (Melanoma Group, IRCCS Istituto Neurologico Besta di Milano)
