Professional experiences: (1992-1996) Fogarty Visiting Fellow at the NCI/NIH in Bethesda (Lab. Steve A Rosenberg), with training in research in immunology-immunotherapy of tumors (Susan L. Topalian), and subsequent Senior Fellowship (Steve A Rosenberg Lab) on Epitome Mimicry in anti-melanoma T cell response. (1997) Head of the Laboratory of Vaccinotherapy and immuno-monitoring, Division of Immunology (Directed by Giorgio Parmiani), clinical studies of immunization with peptide and protein vaccines in patients affected by melanoma, prostate and colon carcinoma; identification of mechanisms of tumor immune escape mediated by myeloid cells. (2007) Head of the SSD of Human Tumor Immunotherapy (INT), development of a systemic immuno-monitoring platform for the identification of predictive biomarkers and new therapeutic targets of immunomodulation. (2023) Head of the SSD Translational Immunology (INT): definition of functional immunological behaviors, modulated by specific treatments or behavioral interventions and associated with clinical outcome in patients with oncological disease

Scientific activity: Study of the immunological pathways that influence tumor growth and response to treatments in patients with oncological disease, through a multimodal immunological monitoring and data integration platform, for the definition of tools that assist therapeutic choice and clinical management.
