PhD Botta Laura

Laura Botta (F) is a biostatistician with a strong background in cancer epidemiology. She earned her Master’s degree in Biostatistics and Applied Statistics from the University of Milano Bicocca, Italy, in 2012, and completed her PhD in Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the University of Burgundy in Dijon, France, in 2024. 

Dr. Botta has over 10 years of research experience at the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori di Milano. She has developed expertise in complex statistical analysis and data management, contributing to numerous national and international projects in both epidemiological (e.g., EUROCARE, RARECARENet, BENCHISTA) and clinical research (e.g., EURACAN). 

Her work focuses on estimating outcome indicators and supporting the design, coordination, and analysis of population-based and multicenter observational studies. She has also been actively involved in several international methodological working groups. In recent years, Dr. Botta has developed innovative methods to assess the increased risk of non-cancer-related mortality among cancer patients.
