Giulia Perrone is a hematologist at the National Cancer Institute in Milan, where she has been part of the Transfusion Medicine and Immunohematology Unit since 2022. She is currently engaged in the implementation of the Patient Blood Management (PBM) program, with a specific focus on the development and integration of a multidisciplinary care pathway aimed at the diagnosis, correction, and perioperative optimization of iron-deficiency anemia. From 2013 to 2022, she worked in the Department of Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation, initially within the allogeneic transplant unit, where she was actively involved in both clinical care and research. From 2019 onward, she attended as the clinical lead for the diagnosis and treatment of multiple myeloma. 

Earlier in her career, she held clinical positions at the Seràgnoli Institute in Bologna, where she completed her hematology residency in 2007 and earned a PhD in experimental hematology in 2011. From 2008 to 2010, she also carried out research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, in Boston. Dr. Perrone has co-led several phase I/II clinical trials investigating novel therapies in the field of onco-hematology. She is the author of numerous peer-reviewed international publications.
