Dr. Leuzzi Giovanni

Dr. Giovanni Leuzzi graduated in Medicine and Surgery with honors in 2007 at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome and subsequently specialized in Thoracic Surgery in 2013 at the Thoracic Surgery Unit of Policlinico Gemelli in Rome.
From 2013 to 2014, he worked as a Thoracic Surgeon at the Thoracic Surgery Unit of the Bellaria - Maggiore Hospital in Bologna, while from 2014 to 2015 he worked as a Senior Researcher at the Thoracic Surgery Unit of the IRCCS Istituto Nazionale Tumori Regina Elena in Rome.
Since 2015, he has worked at the Thoracic Surgery Unit of the IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori Foundation in Milan (directed by Dr. Piergiorgio Solli).

His clinical activity is focused on the treatment of lung cancer (primary and secondary tumors) as well as on mediastinal, pleural, and chest wall cancer. He has acquired considerable experience in early diagnosis and surgical treatment through minimally invasive techniques (VATS).
He is author and co-author of several scientific publications. His research activity is mainly focused on the study of rare thoracic tumors (thymic and neuroendocrine neoplasms), on immunity in primary and secondary lung tumors, and on prognostic scores in thoracic oncology.
He has been a speaker at several national and international conferences. In 2014, he won the "International Thymic Malignancy Interest Group Travel Award".
In 2017, he was one of the organizers of the "First Italian Consensus Conference on Thymic Neoplasms", which led to the publication of the Italian guidelines on the treatment of thymic pathology. He is also a referral surgeon in the TYME network (Italian Collaborative Group for ThYmic MalignanciEs).
