Dr. Roberto Giorgia

I’m a recent graduate in Biomedical Sciences from a double degree program between Università dell’Insubria in Italy and Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in Germany, where I completed my studies with top marks. 

Throughout my academic journey, I’ve developed a strong interest in cancer immunotherapy and had the chance to explore it through hands-on research. During my Master’s thesis at the Institute of Experimental Oncology in Bonn, I worked in the Bald Research Group, focusing on the development of nanobody-based CAR-T cells targeting PVR (CD155). 

This experience gave me practical skills in molecular cloning, in-silico protein design, and spectral flow cytometry using Cytek Aurora, along with data analysis in FlowJo. Earlier, during an internship at the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre in the UK, I investigated immune cell infiltration in tumors using immunofluorescence and digital spatial profiling techniques. 

These experiences deepened my passion for immuno-oncology and helped me build a solid foundation in both experimental and analytical approaches. I’m excited to keep learning and contributing to research that pushes the boundaries of how we treat cancer.
