Dr. Davide Citterio, born in Milan in 1981, graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2006. He subsequently completed his specialization in General Surgery at the same university and obtained a Master's degree in Transplantation Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milano-Bicocca. As part of his specialist training, he carried out clinical and surgical activities at the University Hospital of Geneva (Switzerland). From 2013 to 2016, he was awarded a fellowship in Oncologic Surgery at the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, where he has held a permanent position since 2016 within the Digestive Surgery and Liver Transplantation Unit. His professional activity is focused on the surgical treatment and clinical research of primary and secondary hepatic neoplasms, pancreatic tumors, and malignancies of the upper gastrointestinal tract. He routinely performs oncologic surgery of the liver and biliary tract, pancreas, stomach, esophagus, and colon, with specific expertise in minimally invasive approaches, including laparoscopic and robotic techniques. He is also involved in liver transplantation procedures for both primary and secondary oncologic indications. Dr. Citterio has undertaken advanced training at national and international centers of excellence, with the aim of consolidating and expanding his expertise in hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and esophageal surgery. He is the author or co-author of more than 40 scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals (H-index: 24) and has contributed numerous abstracts to national and international congresses.
