Dr. Depretto Catherine

My name is Catherine Depretto, I am a Radiologist and Breast Specialist and I have been working at the IRCCS National Cancer Institute Foundation in Milan since 2016.  

I trained at the University of Milan, graduating in 2009 with a grade of 110 cum laude and subsequently specializing in Radiodiagnostics in 2017 with the highest marks (70/70). 

During my training, I worked at various hospitals in Milan, including Humanitas Research Hospital, ASST FBF SACCO Vittore Buzzi Children's Hospital, and ASST Santi Paolo e Carlo - San Carlo Borromeo Hospital. 

I deal with all the diagnostic methods used in the department (mammography, contrast-enhanced mammography, tomosynthesis, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging) and perform breast biopsies using various techniques and guides (tru-cut, ultrasound-guided and stereotactic VABB, or CEM/RM-guided), as well as preoperative localizations.  

I am part of the multidisciplinary team of the Breast Unit and participate in all therapeutic planning meetings, pre- and post-treatment, as well as clinical-scientific insights and updates (drafting of PDTA, research protocols, Journal Club). 

I am an active researcher in the field of multimodal breast radiology and author of numerous scientific publications in the field of breast cancer (see CV).  

In addition, I am a speaker at numerous breast cancer conferences with numerous presentations in Italy and Europe, and I am a tutor at the School of Radiodiagnostics at the University of Milan, with a particular focus on research activities.
