Carlo Sposito is a Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgeon currently serving at the Gastrointestinal Surgery and Liver Transplantation Unit of the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan. He is Associate Professor of General Surgery at the Department of Oncology of the University of Milan and teaches General Surgery both at the University of Milan and at the School of Specialization in General Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery (FEBS) in HPB. 

He specialized in General Surgery in 2009 at the University of Milan, after completing his training at the three main Transplant Centers in Milan and at the Hospital Clinic in Barcelona. Throughout his surgical career, he has performed more than 2000 major HPB procedures, with a particular focus on minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic techniques. 

Since 2007, Prof. Sposito has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator in numerous national and international multicenter studies in the field of hepatobiliary and transplant oncology. He is the author and co-author of over 100 publications in peer-reviewed international medical journals, with a current H-Index of 36 and more than 5300 citations. 

He holds editorial positions as Section Editor for Gastrointestinal Oncology in Tumori Journal, Cancer Treatment and Research Communications, and Gastrointestinal Tumors. 

Prof. Sposito is a member of several national and international scientific societies and currently serves on the governing board of AICEP (Italian Association of Hepato-Bilio-Pancreatic Surgery).
