Research and professional Experience
September 2002 - Today: Assistant Professor of Surgery, Gastrointestinal and Hepatopancreatic Surgery and Liver Transplantation Unit, National Cancer Institute, Milan, Italy.
Special interest: medium and high complexity surgical activity concerning the pathology - mainly oncological - of the liver, bile ducts, pancreas, stomach, spleen, small intestine and colon. The personal surgical case history as first operator consists of over 1800 interventions that include procedures in digestive and general surgery. As evidence of the qualified professional level achieved, the following interventions are particularly worthy of note: liver transplant, liver harvesting from a multi-organ cadaver donor, major hepatectomy, multiple liver resections, duodenocephalopancreatectomy, distal splenopancreatectomy, esophago-gastric resection, total and subtotal gastrectomy with extended lymphadenectomy.
In the field of videolaparoscopic surgery: atypical and major liver resections, mini hepatic ALPPS, splenectomy, distal spleno-pancreatectomy, atypical gastric resection, subtotal gastrectomy with lymphadenectomy, esophago-gastric resection, hemicolectomy.
Doctor authorized for the operations of liver harvesting and transplantation from cadavers for therapeutic purposes at the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan.
Activities in the management of the hospitalization department and in outpatient visits.
