I graduated in Molecular Biology from the University of Parma in 2012, completing my internship at the Department of Biosciences. In 2021, I obtained a PhD in Molecular Medicine, and since 2022 I have been enrolled in the Residency Program in Medical Genetics at the University of Milan.
Since 2013, I have been working at the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan, within the Department of Pathology, in the Laboratory of Molecular Diagnostics and Research. My work focuses on the molecular characterization of solid tumors for predictive and prognostic purposes, using Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques on FFPE samples. I have developed specific expertise in lung, colon, pancreatic, ovarian, and breast adenocarcinomas, as well as melanomas and sarcomas, employing multigene panels on Ion Torrent platforms and, more recently, on Illumina systems.
Since 2015, I have extended my research interests to liquid biopsy, taking part in studies aimed at monitoring therapeutic resistance in colorectal cancer—a central topic of my PhD thesis. In recent years, I have also been involved in comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) on cfDNA, particularly in the context of lung and prostate cancers.
Since 2020, I have contributed to the research activities of the Institute’s Institutional Molecular Tumor Board, focusing on genomic profiling and molecular data analysis through CGP, with the aim of identifying predictive biomarkers
