Professional Experience: 

From 2011 to 2016, research fellow and then contract researcher at the Complex Structure of Healthcare Physics of the IRCCS Foundation, National Cancer Institute, mainly involved in radiotherapy treatments with innovative technologies

Since November 2016 to present, Physics Manager at the Complex Structure of Healthcare Physics of the IRCCS Foundation, National Cancer Institute, with activities in External Beam Radiotherapy (treatment planning; acceptance, commissioning, and periodic quality controls of linear accelerators; basic and in vivo dosimetry; development and updating of protocols for quality assurance); high dose rate brachytherapy for gynecological, prostate, and biliary treatments; ophthalmic brachytherapy with Rhenium plaques for eye tumor treatments; Radiology (acceptance and periodic quality controls of radiogenic equipment in the Institute; development and updating of protocols for quality assurance). 

Scientific Activity: 

The scientific work has covered and continues to cover various topics in external beam radiotherapy, radiology, brachytherapy, and the effects of ionizing radiation in vitro and in vivo. Specifically: validation of predictive models for toxicity after radiotherapy treatment for prostate cancer; effects of radiation on cells and animal models; personalization of radiotherapy and gynecological brachytherapy treatments; image quality in mammography. 

Membership in a Multidisciplinary Team: 

  • Member of the Italian Association of Medical Physics (AIFM)
  • Member of the Imaging Task Force of the Institute, within the Cancer Core Europe (CCE) consortium, which brings together some of the most prestigious European Comprehensive Cancer Centers.
