Soft Tissue Tumor Pathology

The ‘Soft tissue tumor pathology Unit’ is dedicated to the diagnosis and study of soft tissue tumors both in pediatric and adult ages. Therapy is based on a correct diagnosis, along the last edition of the WHO ‘Classification of soft tissue and bone tumors’ plus the most recent literature. Morphology is the mainstay of the diagnosis of soft tissue tumors, integrated with the most adequate and updated immunohistochemical, FISH and molecular analyses, all available at the Advanced Diagnostics Dept. All cases are studied together with their clinico-radiologic data, in a multidisciplinary approach.  

Second opinions are available both with the National Health System and privately. 

The Unit is involved in many institutional, national and international research studies. 

Tutoring and educational programs are available for medical students, residents and fellows.
