The SPP, as part of the General Management team, works with the Employer to ensure the protection of workers’ health and safety in the workplace in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 81/2008 and subsequent amendments and additions.
The SPP’s activities, which require both specialist and cross-functional skills, cover the following areas: Organisational Management, Technical, and Communication.
Below are some of the main tasks carried out by the relevant staff:
- identification of risk factors, assessment and identification of measures for the safety and health of the workplace through site inspections at the Foundation’s facilities and services;
- management of the risk assessment process (preparation of documentation and related updates);
- supporting the Foundation’s Project Managers in defining potential risks and measures to minimise them when drafting documents for tender, works or supply contracts;
- coordinating working groups to study issues relating to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and resulting proposals for improvement, as well as consultation with and involvement of the Workers’ Safety Representatives;
- assessment of the suitability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Collective Protective Equipment (CPE);
- environmental monitoring for biological, chemical and physical agents;
- information and training on health and safety at work;
- relationships and partnerships with external regulatory and supervisory bodies and institutions.
